This project serviced over 9,000 customers per annum and marked the first time ATCO Gas Australia had released a contract of this nature. UrbanGrid Australia was one of only two contractors in the metropolitan area working directly for the client in this field and was responsible for the project management of all subcontractors as well as assisting ATCO Gas Australia across all network operations. In addition, UrbanGrid Australia also provided service disconnections and priority connection support along with light industrial and commercial installations.

Network Replacement

ATCO Gas Australia

This ongoing Mains and Services project involved the replacement of over 32,564m metallic mains as well as the installation of in excess of 2,518 associated services in the Bicton and Melville areas. The project specifically included the replacement of nominal diameter Cast Iron, Steel and Galvanized Iron pipe. During this project all service connections were replaced with PE, resulting in a fully fused PE system. The scope of works also includes meter and regulator activities as well as traffic management and reinstatement. The project was staged into six defined areas of construction, located across the Town of East Fremantle and City of Melville. Due to efficient time and cost management, UrbanGrid Australia enabled the client to replace twice the network defined within the original scope of works.
